Based on the Wool trilogy by Hugh Howey, the series stars Rebecca Ferguson as engineer Juliette Nichols, one of many residents of a community living in a silo buried deep beneath the planet's toxic surface.

With all historical records destroyed 140 years earlier, the inhabitants have little knowledge of why it's so important that they never leave their confinement, with a mysterious death giving Juliette the nudge to start digging for information.

The Silo cast boasts a number of big names, with Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), David Oyelowo (Lawmen: Bass Reeves), Common (John Wick) and Dame Harriet Walter (Succession) acting opposite Mission: Impossible star Ferguson.

If you can't wait to get stuck into the next chapter, read on for all the details on when new episodes of Silo are released.

When is episode 8 of Silo on Apple TV+ released?

Silo episode 8 is due to be released on Friday 16th June.

The instalment is titled 'Hanna', appearing to be named after protagonist Juliette's long-dead mother, played by Sienna Guillory.

The episode will see Juliette discover some traumatic secrets about her family's past as she attempts to gain access to the Silo's biggest secrets.

Will Juliette succeed and, if so, what will she uncover?

Ferguson recently told RadioTimes.com of her preparation for the role: "I like finding the depths that are dark and the fact that she was so riddled with trauma and it was sedimented trauma.

"I studied trauma for the role and how expressive, or non-communicative, those people become because they’re so locked in their own grief. That, for me, was one of the biggest drives for her – how to maintain physical elements… of embodying trauma, like how does it show on your body?"

The first seven episodes have dropped on Apple TV+ with fans clamouring for more. Read on for when all-new episodes are due to be released.

How many episodes of Silo on Apple TV+ are there?

There are 10 episodes in the first season of Silo on Apple TV+.

A second season has already been confirmed and is already filming its second season currently.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Howey explained that, ideally, he'd love to see a total of four seasons to properly tell the full story.

"You have to rely on the reception, the quality of the product, the faith in the studio, that you get to tell the rest of the story," he said. "We left a lot out because we haven't got to tell the entire saga yet. There are so many stages to this."

He added: "My sense is that if we try to tell all three books, the whole trilogy, it would probably take four seasons, possibly. But there's a way to tell it in three and those conversations are just always ongoing."
